Spirits
Spirits are beverages made by the process of distillation. The “Spirits” category is not commonly used at Drinkhacker because the vast majority of reviews we publish fall into this category. It is used only occasionally to help organize our category list (and mainly gets clicked by accident).
In December 2024, Constellation Brands unveiled The Noble Share, a unique collaboration between High West Distillery and Casa Noble (NOM 1137). This limited-edition release for late 2024 features a unique blend of straight rye whiskeys, each finished in premium Marques de Casa Noble Añejo Tequila barrels. The blend consists of rye distilled at MGP in…
Blue Run has just dropped the third edition of its Flight Series, a “micro-batch” collection of sourced and blended whiskeys that come in six different sub-editions, each made from just a handful of barrels. None of Flight Series III’s releases utilize more than four barrels per release. When people say “small batch,” this is what…
Fifteen years ago we drank our first sip of WhistlePig rye, and we haven’t looked back since. A cursory look back at Drinkhacker reviews over that time frame reveals some 60-plus WhistlePig reviews, and it often feels like a month doesn’t go by before another WP product lands on our doorstep. WhistlePig is famous for…
La Maison & Velier is best known (and rightfully so) for its world-class rum program, but it also releases limited edition bottlings of other spirits — including mezcal. The Palenqueros line is a series of “single palenque” expressions made in limited quantities in Oaxaca, each showcasing the name and photograph of the producer on the…
Hard Truth Whiskey built its name on the rugged spirit of rye, rolling through Indiana like a freight train. Recently, the folks at Mutiny Island…

And yet, despite the hype,…

Two are full-bottle spirit surrogates, while the third is in a category of its own. Read on for the details. Lyre’s White Cane Spirit Review So……
Rolling Fork Spirits built their initial following on the backs of sourced rum, rum-and-rye blends, and (under the brand name Wayward Cask) highly-aged French brandy. In late 2024, they entered the bourbon market by relaunching Bourbon de Luxe, a label with history dating back to 1911; Rolling Fork co-founder Turner Wathen hails from the same…
Fosforo Mezcal is one of a growing list of mezcal brands started with the help of famous people. But this isn’t exactly your typical celebrity spirits backer. The mezcal was launched in 2022 by Lisa Detwiler with support from her husband and “agave ambassador” Jim Cramer, the animated former hedge fund manager famous for emphatic…
