Review: Inspiro Tequila Luna Blanco (2021)

Looking at the bottle above, you might expect Inspiro to be a vodka. I promise this is not but rather a blanco tequila, which launched in the U.S. in late 2021. The brand was founded by Mara Smith, a former Chicago attorney, who fell in love with tequila and recruited Ana Maria Romero Mena to create this blanco for her. Made from 100% agave, the brand still consists of only the blanco expression.

Let’s give it a try.

Inspiro Tequila Luna Blanco (2021) Review

Moderate but present agave gives the nose an immediate greenness, with white pepper and light notes of bergamot and tea leaf present. The palate is bright and a little steely, with mineral notes kicking off the experience. A pop of vanilla emerges later in the game, tempered by a distinct note of lime leaf, more white pepper, and a squeeze of lemon. Very straightforward and very clean, this would be your perfect everyday, go-to blanco… if it wasn’t so pricey. That issue aside, love it.

80 proof. NOM 1614.
