Review: 2022 Kris Pinot Grigio
This tidy, economically sensible, and widely available pinot grigio calls its home base the Alto Adige region of northern Italy, which shares a border with Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Austria. Its 2022 vintage is crisp and lively, with citrus notes of lime and tangerine leading the charge. As it warms in the glass, the balance stays firmly on fruit-forward dominance, but nice touches of orange blossom, toasted almond, and vanilla percolate underneath to interrupt the monotony. A note of earthy chestnut honey pops up towards the finish for a surprise plot twist, but it does not take long for things to return to citrus and floral safe harbors. A decent wine that will do in a pinch at any point during a light summer dinner.
