Review: Lemonade Stand at Main & Vine Cocktails
Lemonade Stand at Main & Vine is brought to you by The Wine Group, which includes in its hefty wine portfolio familiar brands such as Cupcake Vineyards, Franzia, Chloe, Benziger Family Winery, and of course, Main & Vine. The new ready-to-drink cocktail line bottled under the Lemonade Stand moniker aims to widen the reach of wine and win over new wine drinkers by making RTDs out of a wine base, not spirits.
Let’s see how they fare.
Both are 6.5% abv and bottled in 750ml bottles.
Lemonade Stand at Main & Vine Lemonade Moscato – Made with Moscato, this lemonade cocktail is bright and sweet-and-sour, with the moscato adding a nice prune note underneath. Nicely tart and refreshing with just the right touch of sweetness, the Lemonade Moscato is a delightful drink, and given how easy it goes down, thankfully it’s at a mercifully low proof. Lemonade Stand at Main & Vine Strawberry Lemonade Rose – The strawberry is lush and fruity, akin to a Jolly Ranchers candy expression that also reminds me of Smuckers strawberry jam (you can almost feel the chunks in the juicy strawberry notes). Though sweeter than the Moscato variation, the Rose stops just shy of being as overtly sweet as the candy or jam notes would suggest, letting the tart lemon shine through to deliver another refreshing beverage for sipping under the sun. Some may still find it a tad on the sweet side, but it’s nothing a splash of seltzer or a generous helping of ice couldn’t tame. B [BUY IT NOW FROM TOTAL WINE]
