Review: 2020 Domäne Wachau Loess Gruner Veltliner

Want to enjoy a fun white wine with an even more fun price tag? You have to try this 2020 Domäne Wachau Loess Gruner Veltliner.

This wine, hailing from Austria, is an easy drinking and dry, but not completely dry, white wine. It’s deliciously juicy, with citrus notes of lemon, and lime, and also subtle notes of peach. It’s exquisitely herbaceous, with notes of white pepper, some of the hallmarks of the varietal. Finally, it offers a lovely balanced acidity.

This is a great white if you’re moving away from sweeter styles but aren’t quite ready to go bone dry, and it definitely goes great with summertime food and activities. Another highlight of this wine is its awesome affordability, at only $14 for a full liter. The screwcap top makes it easy to grab and go for picnics, barbeques, outdoor concerts, the beach, or just a day by the pool with friends.
