Review: Firestone Walker 805 Cerveza

805 Cerveza is Firestone Walker’s fresh spin on Mexican-style beer, a crisp lager brewed with a touch of lime — so you needn’t worry about squeezing a chunk of fruit that someone’s pawed over with their dirty fingers into your beer. Anyone worry about that? Moving on.

The beer is a solid example of a south-of-the-border lager, gently malty with some cereal notes but fresh-tasting and cracker-like. Clean and, as they say, crushable. The lime influence is detectable but quite subtle, and I think any drinker could be forgiven for wanting to squeeze an extra wedge of lime into the mix here. That said, it holds up just fine on its own, so don’t feel like a trip down the produce aisle is required in order to enjoy the brew.
