Recipes for National Bloody Mary Day 2021

Recipes for National Bloody Mary Day 2021

It is nearly New Year’s Day, 2021. If you’re reading this, no nuclear bombs went off at the stroke of midnight, and we have survived and thrived in an otherwise horrible year. Time to recover from our sequestered New Year’s Eve festivities through the marketing-sponsored phenomenon known as National Bloody Mary Day.

The Green Mary
1 1/2 oz Ketel One vodka
3 1/2 oz freshly juiced equal parts of celery and cucumber
2/3 oz freshly squeezed lime
1 pinch of rock salt, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and dried red pepper flakes
1/2 vanilla bean pod

Add ingredients to the glass and stir well, add ice. Garnish with a salted cucumber slice. The squeezed lime gives it an interesting twist

Marvelous Mary
1 1/2 oz Ketel One vodka
5 oz tomato juice
1/2 oz lemon juice
5 drops hot sauce
1 pinch salt
Cucumber ribbon for garnish

Add your ingredients over ice in a highball glass, garnish with cucumber ribbon. The hotter the sauce, the better.
