Recipe (and Kit): Honeycomb Highball
Joji is musician seen in the photo above, and you can tell he’s an awfully happy fellow. Why the long face? Because he hasn’t started sipping on the Honeycomb Highball, a cocktail developed in collaboration with Johnnie Walker and Cocktail Courier, which is selling a kit with all the ingredients you need. The most challenging among them is the tamarind and Earl Grey syrup, which I wouldn’t begin to know how to recreate.
The cocktail is a bright and lemony spin on the classic highball, with sweet tamarind notes percolating throughout. If you’d rather try to make it yourself, here’s how.
Honeycomb Highball
1.5 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label
0.5 oz tamarind and Earl Grey syrup
0.25 oz Joji Nectar (this is just honey)
0.75 oz lemon juice
2 oz soda water
2 dashes aromatic bitters
Chill highball glass in freezer. Add ice. Measure all ingredients into the glass and gently stir to incorporate (especially the honey). Garnish with a lemon swath.
Presumably one is meant to sip on the drink while listening to Nectar, Joji’s new album.
