A Message from Drinkhacker about COVID-19

By now you’ve been inundated with emails from every company you do business with and every website you’ve ever visited about coronavirus, aka COVID-19. I don’t know if these messages resonate with you, but I suspect you’re probably getting a little tired of hearing about all the protective measures your bank is taking to keep you safe.

We know you didn’t come to Drinkhacker because you wanted to read more about the global pandemic. You came here because you wanted to find something to drink — probably to find something good to drink — and likely because you want to take your mind off of the pandemic, if only for a little while.

So, we’re not going to give you any advice — we’re not doctors, we’re drinkers — and are simply going to keep doing what we do best: Reviewing products and writing about beer, wine, and spirits. Basically, we’re keeping up business as usual, at least as long as we can keep getting booze to write about.

So, let’s hear it for the many distillers who have converted some of their production to making hand sanitizer. And if you can, kick a dollar or two into a virtual tip jar for your favorite watering hole, brewpub, or wine room — or consider a donation to the U.S. Bartenders’ Guild. The good folks working behind the bar need a drink now just like the rest of us.

So stay safe and drink up, folks. And with that, we take you back to your regularly scheduled programming.
