Review: Crew Bottle Co. Bottles
If you want to make your own bottled cocktail, the conventional method has been to simply upcycle an empty 750ml bottle by washing it out and filling it with your own ingredients. Crew Bottle Co. offers an upscale take on the idea, taking a standard 750ml bottle and outfitting it with a rubberized, removable base. Fill ‘er up, then when it’s time to wash, just disassemble and toss the whole thing in the dishwasher (or wash by hand — easy to do when it’s taken apart). A 450ml version called the Chubby is also available, and it works the same way.
The Crew Bottle is ingenious — and the “Crafty” version includes measurements etched on the side, which would definitely make mixing large-format cocktails simpler. A rubber stopper is included, pour spouts are also available for an additional fee. The bottle looks great — simple and refined — but it’s the cleanability that really sells the concept. The bottles aren’t cheap, but they’re designed to be endlessly reusable, which definitely extends their utility.
