Review: NV La Marca Luminore Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG

You almost undoubtedly know La Marca for its ubiquitous Prosecco that frequently can be found for 10 bucks or less. But did you know La Marca makes an upscale version of this wine, grown in Conegliano Valdobbiadene and carrying a DOCG denomination? It does, and here we try it out. The verdict: It’s a very nutty Prosecco, with an edge of tart, acidic apples and some spice, which gives it a bit of an applesauce character. Very mild carbonation, making this more approachable for those who typically dislike sparkling. Its tart apple character feels somewhat vinegary on the finish, however, the fruit unable to quite keep up with its racy body.
