Tuesday marked another welcoming occasion in the increasingly booming Louisville area: the groundbreaking of Angel’s Envy’s new distillery. The company has concluded a deal with the State of Kentucky for the purchase of property on the corner of Main Street and Jackson. The agreement looks to create about 40 new jobs for the local economy, and renderings of the finished vision were on display for all to ogle over.
Good news for folks of fans of down under vino: the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia is reporting a stellar harvest for 2013, rising more than 10% over 2012’s yield and the biggest in the last five years. Experts attribute the growth to a lack of disease or major flooding, as well as generous access to water for irrigation. This announcement also comes on the heels of a report stating that the French harvest of 2013 is also set to increase by 13% over last year. [Decanter]
