2013 Inauguration Day Cocktails (Including Obama’s Favorite)
Whether you’re celebrating the re-election of President Obama, or need something to numb the pain of another 4 years of his administration, these Campari-concocted cocktails offer something up for a diverse array of palates.
The Americano
1 oz. Campari
1 oz. Cinzano Rosso Vermouth
Splash of Club Soda
Pour Campari and Cinzano Rosso Vermouth over ice in a rocks or highball glass. Add a splash of club soda. Garnish with an orange twist.
(Note: According to Campari, this is allegedly President Obama’s favorite cocktail. While we have placed a call to the White House Social Secretary’s Office for confirmation, we’ve yet to receive a response. We’ll follow up and present information as it becomes available.)
The First Lady
1 oz. Wild Turkey American Honey Liqueur
1 oz. peach nectar
5 raspberries
squeeze of lemon
top off with Champagne or sparkling wine
1 sugar cube
Muddle ingredients (except sugar cube and wine) and shake over ice. Place sugar cube in the bottom of the glass and strain drink over it. Top with Champagne or sparkling wine.
The LiberTea
4 cups water
4 cups lemonade
4 black tea bags
1 cup fresh basil leaves
½ cup Wild Turkey Bourbon
1 ½ cups American Honey
In a large saucepan, boil 2 cups water. Remove from heat; add 4 teabags of black tea. Steep 8 minutes; discard teabags. Add 2 cups cold water and lemonade; transfer to pitcher and chill. Add fresh basil leaves. Using a wooden spoon, crush basil until fragrant. Stir in Wild Turkey Bourbon and American Honey. Serve over ice. Makes 1 large pitcher.
The Two Term Tipple

1 oz. Wild Turkey 101
3/4 oz. Wild Turkey 81
1/2 oz. Lemon juice
1/2 oz. Aperol
1/2 oz. Maple Syrup
Combine all ingredients, shake vigorously, and serve in a high ball glass. Garnish with a wedge of lemon.
