Cocktails from the Sundance Film Festival 2013
Sundance isn’t just about movies. All those stars have to eat and drink, too. And eat and drink well they do. The “Chefdance” dinner series gets underway when Sundance starts on Thursday of this week. Here are some of the cocktails the A-list will be consuming with their wagyu and foie gras. Fill old-fashioned glass with ice. Add Ketel One vodka, blood orange juice and cinnamon simple syrup into old-fashioned glass. Top with dry blood orange soda and stir gently. Garnish with blood orange wheel on the rim of the glass speared by a cinnamon stick.
Combine Tequila Don Julio Blanco, blood orange juice and fig-agave jam with cayenne into a mixing glass with ice. Shake well. Pour contents into an old-fashioned glass. Top with dry soda and stir gently. Garnish with sliced fig.
1 1/2 ounces Zacapa 23
3/4 ounce Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 ounce Ginger-Allspice Dram
Candied Ginger for Garnish
Lime Wheel for Garnish
Fill old-fashioned glass with ice. Add Zacapa 23, fresh lime juice and ginger-allspice dram into old-fashioned glass and stir gently. Garnish with a lime wheel speared through a piece of candied ginger.
Combine Tanqueray Gin, beet water, black pepper simple syrup and fresh lemon juice into a mixing glass. Add spearmint to mixing glass and shake hard. Strain contents into an old-fashioned glass with ice. Garnish with a spearmint sprig and striped beet.
1 1/2 ounces Bulleit Bourbon
2 ounces Smoked Maple-Chicory Soda
Dried Apple Chip for Garnish
Combine Bulleit Bourbon and smoked maple-chicory soda into an old-fashioned glass with ice and stir gently. Garnish with a speared dried apple chip.
