Review: Bai and Bai5 Antioxidant Infusions Beverages

Review: Bai and Bai5 Antioxidant Infusions Beverages

bai 5

The world of health-focused juice blends is an ever-expanding one, and quality is all over the map. One of the better ones out there is Bai, and we tasted a sampling of juices including both Bai (traditionally sweetened with organic cane juice) and Bai5 (sweetened with low-cal erythritol) products.

All Bai products are spiked with organic coffeefruit and white tea extract, which is one way to get the purported antioxidant goodness of both of these drinks into your diet… without having to brew up coffee or tea, and with minimal caffeine (each serving has about as much as a cup of green tea).

Thoughts on three of the infusions (there are about a dozen in total) follow.

Bai Antioxidant Infusions Jamaica Blue Berry – Good, authentic blueberry flavor, and just the right amount of sweetness and a little touch of cinnamon character on the finish. Somewhere between flavored water and juice, which suits me just fine. 10% juice. About 160 calories per 18 oz. bottle. A-

Bai5 Antioxidant Infusions Panama Peach – Very peachy, pretty authentic. Not much aftertaste, and the sweetness level is right. Good consistency, not too watery. Peach isn’t my favorite fruit but I could totally see drinking this on an occasional basis. 4% juice. About 11 calories per 18 oz. bottle. B+

Bai5 Antioxidant Infusions Sumatra Dragonfruit – Stronger in flavor, and a bit musty. The flavor is somewhere in the region of a mix of raspberry, cherry, and mango. which gives this darker, more intense beverage more of a fruit punch character. Not bad, but not as nuanced as the others. 4% juice. About 11 calories per 18 oz. bottle. B

about $24 per 12-pack [BUY THEM ALL FROM AMAZON]drinkbai.com

If you don’t mind the after taste lasting 4 hours, terrible taste, then I guess is a reasonable product. I purchased 4 bottles and after drinking one I plan on disposing the rest down the drain. The after taste is so bad that it is worse than any other artificially sweetened product that I have tried. Personally I say don’t buy this product because of the taste.

I totally disagree with the above review. Some of the flavors may not be as good as others, (my first bottle was the mango, which was “okay”), but I’m on my second bottle (this one being Costa Rica Clementine) and I think the taste is pretty darned good…certainly no aftertaste. Considering the benefits of what you’re drinking, I’d call this a good product!

Bai is delicious. That first reviewer is an idiot. Some people out there even don’t like pizza

The first viewer is right on some of the bai 5 drinks. I tried the MOLOKAI COCONUT it left a taste for a few. Something you just have to get use to but viewers i am hooked on the BRASILIA BLUEBERRY try it it is so delicious. It is very refreshing. Just because you get one you dont like dont mean they are all bad. Its like peanut butter not all the same Jiffy is the best ????

First review is totally off……. I’ve tried 4 flavors and they are all very good, refreshing, and barely, if any, an after taste. To reviewer no. 1….. keep your comments to yourself, you must work for the competitor. Bai5 is really a great refreshment, and with only 5 calories you just can’t beat it. I don’t even need to swig down water after drinking it as my thirst is quenched, very little after taste. I suggest trying out this new flavored water.

I am very sensitive to most artificial sweeteners- I don’t mean I’m allergic, I just gag at the taste of most. However, I gave Bai-5 a try and OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE IT! If I didn’t know it was only five calories I’d probably guess it had as much sugar as Vitaminwater, Gatorade, or juice.
The wide range of flavors keeps me from getting bored…the only thing missing I would like to see is a lemonade.
My top favorites are Costa Rica Clementine, Sumatra Dragonfruit, and Panama Peach. The Pomegranate one is a bit more tart if you’re looking for something less sweet and Coconut is on the other end of the scale, being the sweetest in my opinion.

Tiffany, you should try the tanzania lemonade tea. It’s one of my favorites! Just like an arnold palmer but less diabetec…lol

At Costco in their 15pack BAI replaced SUMATRA DRAGONFRUIT (one of their best flavors) with KULA WATERMELON, not a good choice, why ? Don’t care for it at all.

Did you know this drink has 70mg of caffeine per 18 oz bottle ?!
    I did not know this
They should list this on the front & not just little kelp ent on the back
Of the bottle! It is tasty tho &
But I will drink this in moderation
    As I Dont consume caffeine

Wanted to like these drinks, but was way disappointed in the taste, consistency and flavor. All have a terrible aftertaste. In short it was sort of like thin cough syrup. Sorry guys, won’t buy again & couldn’t recommend to anyone.

My son was a avid Coke Cola ‘drinker’. Introduced him to Bai and now he says the Cola taste is not good and he enjoys the variety of flavors. Good choice son!

I just bought all the 5 flavors at Costco, because I wanted to try it, I don’t like green tea and it’s hard for me to drink water because it’s good for me. I only drink it if I am thirsty, I really like
these flavored drinks it helps my well being all the way around.

    Thank you

I hate to drink water and nothing else taste better than a Coke. My daughter had me try Bai and I’ve since put the Coke away. I also never liked artificial drinks but there is nothing artificial about Bai. I compromise a bit by filling my glass with ice and add a little water to Bai. Delicious!

It is nice to see open various reviews. It shows everyone has an opinion and everyone’s tastes are different with this talk of the blueberry I must try that one. I haven’t tried that one it’s true many of them have aftertaste but the bubbles and they can really are terrible

  18. Greg Townsend on August 30, 2018 at 8:22 am

I used to buy the bai bubbles drinks in a can. I especially enjoyed the root beer and ginger ale beverages. Then suddenly there are no options to the different flavors that were available. My question what happened to variety?
