The A-List – November 2014

Welcome to this month’s edition of the A-List, our compendium of the best of the best we’ve reviewed in the last 30 days. Lots of great stuff for everyone this month, including a very rare “A+” rating to the latest Tun offering from the Balvenie. Not seeing anything you like here? We’ve also just published the 2014 edition of our annual Gift Guide with a generous amount of high quality suggestions for your upcoming holiday affairs.

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 11.14.2014

Welcome to another edition of the Drinkhacker Shopping List, our overview of the best and worst of the last several weeks of reviews on the site. Lots of wines to choose from this edition, and a rare surprise of zero bourbons (we’d need to look back at previous lists, but it’s been a while since that happened) from which to choose. However, we’ve profiled plenty to satisfy even the most discerning of palates, and we’re sure there’s something on the Shopping List for you to enjoy.

The A-List – October 2014

Welcome to this month’s edition of the A-List, where we look back at the best of last month’s reviews and ratings and compile them into a really useful, printer-friendly graphic you may take along during your next trip to the store. We’re winding down 2014 and there have been some really truly exceptional items released on the market. Much like his beloved San Francisco Giants, Christopher got way lucky and was able to taste a 50 Year Old Highland Park, and it seems as if someone finally got pumpkin spice vodka correct. All in all, another fine month.

(Rob’s note: Hibiki all over the place. The 21 year hasn’t arrived in my neck of the woods yet, but the 17 year was here and gone the same day and I was lucky to procure a bottle. If you find it, buy it. Outstanding stuff.)

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 10.31.2014

Welcome to the Drinkhacker Shopping List, our semi-monthly look back at the latest and greatest (and not so great) that we’ve reviewed. This edition finds us pretty heavy on the wines, along with some excellent bourbons and scotches — including a 50 year old Highland Park single malt. Happy shopping and happy Halloween!

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 10.19.2014

It’s the weekend, and time for another edition of the Shopping List, our bi-weekly look back at the best and worst of new products we’ve reviewed. Lots to choose from this time, including a healthy survey of pumpkin flavored beers and some tequilas and whiskies receiving high marks. Whatever your palate may call for, we’ve something for everyone. We even have something for San Francisco Giants fans, who will no doubt be in need of a chaser to mix  salty tears as their beloved team suffers defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Royals in six games or less. [Heresy! -Ed.]

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 10.03.2014

Hello, happy friday and welcome to this edition of the Drinkhacker Shopping List, or look back at the best (and not so great) of the last few weeks. It’s a bit light after a pretty heavy shopping list earlier this month, but thankfully, there’s something on here to satisfy (nearly) everyone’s tastes and budget.

The A-List – September 2014

It’s the top of the month and that means it’s time to look back at the best of the best that we’ve reviewed this week. We’re still enjoying a healthy onslaught of bourbons and whiskies thanks to the special/limited edition release season that’s now in full swing, but we also had a very special tequila, Casa Noble Anejo, which received the rare and coveted “A+” rating.

(Rob’s note: this month I fell in love all over again with Four Roses. I just finished off the Single Barrel custom-picked by my local store when the general release arrived on the shelf. It’s just as good as anything else they’ve put out this year. By the time you read this, it will most likely be off the shelf. But should you find yourself in a position to buy one, do so! See you in line for the Antique Collection!)

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 09.19.2014

Hello and welcome to the Shopping List, our semi-weekly round up of the unbelievable and the undrinkable compiled concisely with care for printable portability. Lots of good stuff to choose from this time around, including a rare A+ rating for Casa Noble Anejo.

(Rob’s note: I didn’t get a chance to review this, but I was lucky enough to purchase a bottle of this year’s Parker’s Heritage Collection Wheated and Chris’ assessment was spot on. Heaven Hill is certainly on a hot streak these days, and I’m hoping to find and purchase a bottle of the Weller Antique collection just to complete the Fall Wheated offerings.)

The A-List – August 2014

Welcome to this month’s edition of the A-List, where we look back at the best of last month’s reviews and ratings and compile them into a really useful, printer-friendly graphic you may take along during your next trip to the store. There’s plenty of great offerings this month, and as we turn the bend into the bourbon special release season, many think the best is still yet to come.

(Rob’s note: Quite simply — Willett Rye. Buy it on sight. It’s a great value and the quality is (hopefully) only going to get better as the stock ages. I’m on bottle #3.)

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 08.31.2014

It’s time for our twice monthly look back at the best and worst we’ve reviewed here at Drinkhacker. This week’s edition of the Shopping List has a wide variety of stuff for everyone: outstanding scotches, summer-friendly beers, a Cuban-not-Cuban rum, and even a quirky little syrup that is sure to heat up your cocktails.

The A-List – July 2014

Welcome to this month’s edition of the A-List, where we look back at the best of last month’s reviews and ratings and compile them into a really useful, printer-friendly graphic you may take along during your next trip to the store.

(Rob’s note: This month we had some insanely pricey scotch head our way, but for something a bit easier on the pocketbook and a bit easier to find, I’m giving the Lagavulin 12 Years Old Limited Edition and the Buffalo Trace Experimental 12 Year Old the thumbs up this month.)

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 07.31.2014

If it’s Friday, it’s time for the Shopping List, our twice monthly look back at the best and worst we’ve reviewed on the site. This edition has a generous share of bourbons and wines from which to choose, with many earning quite high praise. We’ve also had the good fortune to review some fantastic Scotch.

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 07.18.2014

Welcome to another edition of the Shopping List, our bi-weekly look back at the best and worst of what we’ve reviewed over the last few weeks, and we’ve certainly reviewed a generous amount of stuff. While we did review quite a bit of wine over the last two weeks, perhaps the biggest news was the marathon session of limited edition expressions from Diageo that we had the good fortune of trying, along with the Signature Craft bourbons from Jim Beam. Some of this stuff isn’t out on the shelves yet, but will be in short order. So keep your eyes peeled, and if you’re one of the lucky ones to score some of the Diageo scotches, drop us a line with your thoughts.

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 07.03.2014

This edition of The Shopping List covers the remainder of last month’s reviews and finds us once incredibly beer and wine heavy, no doubt ideal for the upcoming holiday season. Definitely worth the time to call this up on your cell phone or print it out to take along with you on your next trip to the store. Have a great and safe holiday weekend!

The A-List – June 2014

Welcome to this month’s edition of the A-List, where we look back at the best of last month’s reviews and ratings and compile them into a really useful, printer-friendly graphic you may take along during your next trip to the store. We’ve reached the midpoint of 2014 and there have been some really truly exceptional items released on the market. One of the best years in a while? Quite possibly.

(Rob’s note: The Rittenhouse is an incredible bang for the buck rye that’s finally getting its due on the site. And while it is a wee bit pricey, the High West is quite a great grab if you can still find it on the shelves!)

The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 06.13.2014

Hello and welcome again to the Drinkhacker Shopping List, our semi-regular list of the best and worst of what we’ve reviewed over the last several weeks. This edition finds us incredibly beer and wine heavy, ideal for those outdoor dinner parties and relaxing summer moments when the days are long and the drinks are (hopefully) properly served. Enjoy!

The A-List – May 2014

Howdy and welcome to this month’s edition of the A-List, where we look back at the best of last month’s reviews and ratings and compile them into n unbearably useful, printer-friendly graphic you may take along during your next trip to the store. This month brings a wide variety of options and price points from which to choose, including an incredible bargain for fans of Rose wine and one of the best coffee liqueurs currently on the market.

(Rob’s note: It was an incredible month for bourbons, with two of my favorites of 2014 (thus far) appearing courtesy of Wild Turkey and Four Roses. The WT should be in stores soon, while the Four Roses may already be gone, depending on where you live. At this point, Jim Rutledge seems simply unstoppable with the high quality efforts he’s putting forth.)
