The Drinkhacker Shopping List – 10.12.2012

Greetings and welcome to the Drinkhacker Shopping List, a weekly compendium of the reviews we’ve featured on Drinkhacker for the last few weeks. Look to this as a cheat sheet to bring along with you to the store on your next trip, or to carry with you on your next adventure to the bar. Impress business associates with the depth of your wisdom while keeping a copy in your wallet. Make yourself smarter by keeping it saved on your smartphone or use it to strike up conversations with the local bartender about the latest acquisitions, yours and theirs. Whatever you choose to use it for, we hope you do on a regular basis. Have a pick we didn’t review or a suggestion for next week’s list? Leave us some feedback in the comments field! (Note: you can also make it full size by clicking on the image)

  1. Where’s the gin recommendations on this list???

  2. Hey Doc,

Thanks for writing in. There haven’t been Gin reviews during the time period this particular list covers (I’m only compiling for the past few weeks). However, here are a few recent ones from the past few months:

Greenhook Ginsmiths American Dry Gin A-
    Cardinal American Dry Gin A-
    Smooth Ambler Greenbrier Gin B+
    Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin B+

Of course, you can always read more in-depth profiles here: http://www.drinkhacker.com/category/gin/

  3. Doc – the idea is to round up the last week or so in reviews in case there was something you missed. But you bring up a good idea — maybe we should do category roundups too periodically.

  4. Magic Hat Hex is one of the better beers I’ve had. It’s damn near perfect for this time of fall. It is a little heavy, which is off-putting to some, but it’s got a very flavorful body to it. It rivals Sam Adams’ Boston Lager in terms of complexity.
