The origin of the name has eluded me as well, none of my contacts in the industry seem to know… still a fantastic tequila, glad to see it positively reviewed.

This is my favorite Tequila so far. I thought the reposado had a faint smell of Big Red chewing gum. I can’t seem to find the correct answer to the story behind the name and I have come across 3 different meanings behind it.

The meaning behind 1921. The owners of this tequila bought an old hacienda that had been abandoned for many years. While making renovations a room was found and among other things it contained old bottles of tequila. When they found how good it was they started a new business to try and reproduce it. 1921 is the year they estimate the old tequila came from. As a side note Oprah Winfrey mentioned how much she enjoyed the cream tequila and the company has had some difficulty producing enough.
