I got my girl a bottle of Landy Desir. She loved the bottle design since it was shaped as a female body with a dress. Definitely recommend it for next year to anyone who’s stuck on ideas

Blair – For Irish either Jameson Rarest Vintage Reserve 2007 (if you can still find it), or, for something more affordable, Jameson Gold Reserve. As for Port, this year I liked the Sandeman 20 Year Tawny quite a bit, but don’t have enough data points to offer a broader recommendation. Same for Sherry, Sake, and flavored brandy — just haven’t had enough of them in ’08 to offer advice. I also avoided giving wine recommendations — though I have plenty to offer — because availability is so random from one place to the next. If anyone’s looking for table wine suggestions, please drop me a line with your specifics and I’ll try to oblige!
